Music Together is different from other early childhood music programs in that the classes are mixed ages, from birth to 5. Also, the grown ups are the ones making the music, and the kids just soak it up at their own individual paces. Because of this, it's totally appropriate for babies all the way through 5 year olds. Kids learn music the same way they learn language: by being around adults who are doing it! Your baby is going to be experiencing the music in his/her own brilliant way as you sing, move to the music, and tap the beat gently on her body. She will benefit from watching the older kids as well. Older kids benefit from being the leaders and feeling so proud to be able to skip and hop like a big kid! Studies have shown over and over how beneficial a mixed aged learning environment is. Oh, and don't forget how much fun it is for the parent to be able to just make music at HER own pace and not worry about what her child is doing! It's a win for all!
